With the first preseason game set to take place later this week, football is officially back. This Thursday we will see the Pittsburgh Steeelers take on the Dallas Cowboys in the annual Hall of Fame game. This will be the first of many preseason games, giving fans something interesting to watch as they wait for the regular season to commence on September ninth.
Although most of you football fans believe that the preseason is a waste of time and an uncompetitive version of actual football, there is actually much to look forward to. For example, every fan will get their first look at the rookie quarterbacks and other rookies in an NFL setting with NFL competition. These players will get to show the fans and coaches what they can do on the field before the actual season starts.
Along with the rookies getting their first snaps of NFL action fans will be able to watch new acquisitions and player battles throughout the preseason. For example, this Thursday we will see 2021 free agent pick up and former first round pick Dwayne Haskins make his debut for the Pittsburgh Steelers. This will give fans the opportunity to see how well he can perform and if he is able to bounce back from his time in Washington. We will also be able to watch how players perform throughout the game compared to others at their position. This will give fans the chance to make an inference on which player will get the nod as the starter or just placed higher in the depth chart.
Overall, football is back and will be back until March of 2022. So fans, stay tuned and watch the preseason games, because not only is it football and something to watch before the regular season, but the battles and rookie debuts are very interesting to follow.
